I presented at the workshop “Bridging Soft Robotics and Human-Computer Interaction to Open New Potential Spaces” at IEEE RoboSoft 2026, the international soft robotics conference held in Kanazawa.
Activity log
The presentation centered on LUMION, the biometric measurement device we are developing at Cocoreach Inc. I worked out where our technology sits at the intersection of soft robotics and HCI and prepared the material around that. What a research talk demands differs from a business pitch, so I rebuilt the argument from the way its claims were framed.
During the conference I traveled to Kanazawa with our current CEO, and we gave the presentation at the workshop. It was my first experience explaining something we had built as a business in a research context.
I also attended the other talks to see how far research combining soft robotics and HCI has progressed.
The questions researchers raise come from a fundamentally different angle than those in a business setting. Before the market, they ask about principles and reproducibility. This conference was a first step in learning to talk about our technology in both languages, business and research.
